Above is commonly referred to as shock loss.  It is not uncommon for patients to go through a period of time after surgery where they have less hair then when they started.  This is a normal occurrence.

The product topik is a good method to utilize in  this uncomfortable time period.

Usually shock loss is the period from immediately after the procedure through the first four months.  This is the patient 7 months later where not only did he recover his shocked hair but now has a boat load of new hair that has come in.  He also has at least 5 more months of improvement to come.

Case History:

Our patient had a previous procedure elsewhere before his 20th birthday.   Our patient then came to Dr. Bolton and had one procedure.  There is a limitation to how much coverage you can get in one procedure and this patient may elect to come back at anytime for more density.  The skill in which Dr. Bolton does his procedures enable his patients to come back in the future if they choose to add density.  Dr. Bolton's surgical skill is at an elite level and having a few procedures, if they choose, will not compromise the donor area of his patients.
